Conceived and delivered in Vancouver, Mell was raised strictly vegetarian with minimal dairy due to a combination of ethics and the fact that meat was more expensive than vegetables (thanks hippy, forward-thinking parents). We’re talking tofu, unsweetened soy milk, and dehydrating EVERYTHING, not to mention the juicing. Meals consisted of wild rice with lightly steamed veggies which made going out for sushi a rare and appreciated treat. She grew up in the oceans and forests of BC, but is at home no matter where she is.
Between meals, you’ll find Mell anywhere and everywhere: hiking/skiing mountains, scuba diving, drinking and dancing around the city, experiencing wanderlust on a regular basis and in general having the time of her life. Always.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Vancouver, Grace grew up eating buckets of rice and various Chinese staples like eggs in tomato sauce and shredded pork with pickled veggies at home. Sometimes her parents would feel fancy and make odd Asian-style spaghetti. Now, she loves to eat pretty much anything, although she is partial to sushi and tapas—preferably washed down with a pint of Butterbeer.
When Grace is not stuffing her face, you can usually find her dancing (or swaying melancholically) at a concert, writing rhymes, or chasing the next bus / train / plane to somewhere no one’s ever heard of.
