We’d just been pretty damn healthy with our trip to Nosh and were feeling pretty proud of ourselves until…
M: Fuck. I want donuts.
G: Cartems is near and I still have 30 minutes before I need to head back to work.
Lol. Basically our lives boil down to “Is there time for dessert?”
Thank God there wasn’t much of a line, but Mell still took forever to decide (G: FOR-E-VER). As ambitious as we both were, we ended up with three donuts to share.
Mell was hella set on the Earl Grey tea donut because she’ll eat anything Earl Grey (basic, she knows). This donut didn’t let her down; it was filled with a buttery bergamot + lavender-infused cream which went perfectly with the vanilla glaze and the milky icing. That’s one strong craving satisfied.
Grace gets Cartems regularly delivered to her office (M: I hate you) so she knows what’s up and ordered the maple walnut donut. This is her fave donut hands down and will, without fail, spring from her desk in desperate search for it when the donut boxes make their way around the office.
G: I. Can’t. Even. The word foodgasm was invented for this donut.
The spiced walnuts make this donut both sweet and savoury, and work really well with the maple flavour. And the crunchy texture playing off the doughiness… gah. Perfection.
Mell caved and got a classic vanilla glazed donut for the finale, much to Grace’s disapproval. This was kinda her fave for a two reasons:
#1. Not too sweet, not too plain, but juuust right.
#2. She could eat five more of these… so maybe that’s actually a deterrent to getting this one again.
G: Okay this is actually pretty good.
M: TOLD YOU, ASDFGHJKL;
We’d never eaten donuts so fast in our lives and that uphill walk back to work was basically hell. But it was well worth it.
